Social Karaoke runs entirely in a browser, so there is nothing to install on a work laptop or on anyone's phone. A join PIN and approval controls keep the room to the people you actually invited.
Nothing to install on work devices
The whole app is a web page. It runs in the conference-room browser and in everyone's phone browser, with no software to install, no admin rights needed, and no IT ticket.
This is usually the blocker for work parties. Anything that requires an install on a managed device is a conversation with IT, and anything that requires colleagues to create accounts with their work email is a conversation about data. Neither applies here: guests provide a nickname and nothing else, and there is no ad tracking or third-party trackers on the site.
Keep the room under control
Rooms can be locked down two ways. Set a join PIN so only people you share it with can enter, or turn on knock-to-join so you approve each arrival individually.
Room codes travel further than you expect at a work event - they end up on a screenshot in a group chat, or read aloud in a room with the door open. Both controls exist for that.
If someone does need reining in, hosts and co-hosts can put a guest in a timeout for 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. A timed-out person can stay and watch but cannot add songs, use the chat, or vote. Share the hosting
You do not have to run it alone. Promote a trusted colleague to co-host and they can reorder the queue, remove songs, skip, and handle kicks and timeouts alongside you.
Some things stay with you as host: room settings, promoting other co-hosts, archiving the room, and transferring it. Co-hosts also cannot time out the host or each other, so the person organising the event keeps final say. Promoting at least one co-host early is worth doing anyway - if your laptop dies, only a co-host can take over the room.
Fair turns for a big team
One shared queue keeps a work party from becoming one person's show. Everyone adds their own songs, each entry shows who added it, and people can upvote a song to move it up.
Skipping the current song is a majority vote of the room rather than one person's decision, which takes the social awkwardness out of ending a song that is not working. Hosts and co-hosts can skip instantly if needed, or turn voting off entirely.
One more thing worth knowing for a work context: room chat is live-only. It is not carried into the archived history after the room closes, so what gets said in the room stays in the room.

Does it work on the conference-room TV?
Yes. Host the room in the TV's built-in browser, or open it on a laptop and connect to the screen over HDMI or casting. The host screen is what the room watches and sings to.
